If you’re someone who does a lot of pallet wrapping, the most important thing is to do it correctly. It isn’t just to keep items contained, but it’s also for safety reasons too. If they fall and spill everywhere, there’s a chance that it can get everywhere, creating a big problem for people.
Here, you’ll learn how to make sure that your items are palleted correctly, so that you’re able to protect them, and provide the best experience to your customers, so that their products can get to point B from point A safely and safely.
Begin by Selecting the Pallet
The first thing, in order to wrap pallets in a correct manner, is to choose the pallet that’ll be wrapped. Right now, we have a shortage of pallets, and this can be a bit hard. You want to grab one from the warehouse that’s good, and also one that doesn’t have wear and tear. Basically, make sure that boxes can go on top of this.
After that, you’ll want to make sure it’s on a flat surface, with enough room so that you can move around the entire circumference of the load. From there, you’ll want to make sure that the pallet is directly in the location where the item is. Try to have about six feet of space between the pallets, so that if there are laborers that are there, they don’t bump into one another. Then, it’s time for you to stack these.
Stack Away
In a perfect world, you’d stack everything based on the same sizes and shapes, but for some products, that’s not possible. You may have stuff that is weird in sizes. You might have to call on stretch wrapping in order to make this work. Then, let’s take the boxes, assume that they’re rectangles and squares. Basically, you want to play Tetris with all of the stuff to put on top of one another.
You’ll want to rotate and put everything together until it fits in nicely. You want to stack everything so that it fits adequately on the pallets, since this way, the load is further secured without any added holes and spaces.
Wrap it!
Then, you want to wrap this pallet. Once this is completed, it’ll create a square or a rectangle that’s uniform. You’ll want to use stretch film, one that’s applied using your hands, and also you might use a dispenser too in order to create a tighter wrapping.
For hand wrapping, you begin with a hand roll. You want to find the corner of the film, and then pull it off. You’ll want to pull about a few inches, then put it near the base, and place it underneath the corner. Once that’s there, you basically wrap it. you’ll want to walk around this, and make sure that there is a layer for each of the boxes.
They may overlap, but they usually fit correctly over one another. Make sure everything is tight and firm with the corner. You may want to get a stretch wrapping machine for this, since of course, this may be easier. You also might want to do this from the bottom.
Once this is done, you then tear this off, tuck it under the edge of where the lip is, and from there, you keep it secure. Then, it’s time to put on a truck. Stretch wrapping is pretty easy to work with, and in this, we went over how it’s done, and everything that you need to know about stretch wrapping so that you can do it right the next time you need it.
